The Roland-Garros finalist is 10 times richer

French Open Finalist Jessica Pegula will compete for the Women’s Doubles Championship this morning after defeating Madison Keys and Taylor Townsend in the semifinals.

If she passes the final, she will share the winning prize, a total of £495,000, with partner Coco Gauff.

This is a truly life-changing sum of money for any young athlete, but rather surprisingly unnecessary for Jessica Pegula, who is set to inherit her father Terry Pegula’s wealth.

Terry Pegula currently ranks 434th on Forbes’ richest men’s list. The billionaire earned his wealth through real estate, oil and sports ventures – he currently owns the NFL team Buffalo Bills.

His daughter had a brilliant career in tennisearning around £3.4million during his time competing at the top.

Most recently, she took part in the singles final of the Madrid Open, where she was beaten rather convincingly by Ons Jabeur. Despite this, however, she managed to surpass her previous best ranking of 14th.

It’s clear that Jessica is looking for fame rather than dollar signs as she could inherit £4.6billion which would put her at the top of the list of the highest paid sports stars in the world.

Let’s put this into perspective…

The three greatest tennis players of our generation, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovichave a combined net worth of around £770million.

Pegula is not only set to inherit absolute fortune, but she also owns her own successful skincare business, Ready 24.

Jessica Pegula will surpass the three tennis greats combined. She will be five times richer than their combined net worth. Mad!

Meanwhile, Formula One Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have a combined net worth of £450 million. Jessica Pegula will be 10 times richer than the two men combined!

Only a certain number of athletes have managed to achieve billionaire status. Cristiano Ronaldo, Floyd Mayweather and Tiger Woods are just a few who have seen the illusory nine zeros on their bank accounts.

It won’t be long before Pegula sees his bank balance surpass these sports greats!
