EYE ON CLALLAM: Flood related expenses, subject of public hearing

Clallam County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on flood-related spending when they meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

The questionable flood-related emergencies that will be the subject of the public hearing include $ 2,000 in additional payroll for the public works department, $ 25,000 for emergency clean-up for the sheriff’s office and $ 10,000 for extra time.

The commissioners will also acknowledge receipt of the final redistribution plan.

They will consider $ 21,000 to Black Ball Transportation Inc. for the COVID-19 vaccine marketing campaign.

The other items on the agenda are:

• An agreement with the Ministry of Commerce for a STOP grant to violence against women.

• An agreement with the Environmental Systems Research Institute for $ 95,400 for the upgrade of geographic information systems.

• A proposal for the Affordable Housing Fund 2060.

• A consolidated contract between the State Department of Health and Clallam County Health and Social Services.

• An agreement with the Tacoma-Piece County Health Department for access to food worker map online training services.

• Resolutions regarding grant applications for the Dungeness Off-Channel Reservoir Project.

• Resolutions related to increasing funding limits for child care services under the American Rescue Plan Act.

• Several appointments to advisory boards and committees.

• A call for a public hearing regarding the review of the coastal master plan set for 10:30 am Tuesday January 11.
